This piece was painted in the Spring of 1983, by Gene S. Riley an artist from Brattleboro VT. Gene, is a mostly self taught artist who specializes in still-life’s as you see here. It is signed on the back with his address & notes. The piece features a gorgeous temple jar & five apples. The star of the show for me is the perfectly pink tablecloth & background that is a mixture of pink & a periwinkle! All the colors complement each other in the most brilliant way! The frame is wood & has a light gilding. This is a vintage piece & it does have some minor wear to the frame but it’s in perfectly sound condition. There is a sheen on one section of the tablecloth, it is not a stain it truly appears to me to be original to the piece. I cannot praise this beauty enough, it’s truly an excellent addition to any home.
